ABOUT SOMATIC THERAPY
If you are navigating difficult life challenges or if you are seeking greater well-being and resilience, this mind-body practice can empower you to tap into your own innate healing capabilities. Through this evidence-based therapeutic wellness experience, I help you access your body intelligence, which is part of your emotional intelligence. In a session, you can learn to regulate your nervous system and meet your feelings with direct, compassionate awareness. In stressful situations at work, home, or school, you will have tools to reduce your reactivity. Breathing, embodied mindfulness techniques, and dialogue are all part of this cutting edge practice.
WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?
Online or in-person: You will learn centering practices as well as tools to help you regulate your nervous system, especially when you find yourself in states of high anxiety or anger. You can explore how to be with difficult emotions in a non-judgmental and compassionate space. I use a combination of somatic interventions to help you engage all of your intelligences. At the end of the session, you will leave with insights and practical tools to help create lasting personal growth and change.
I am dedicated to bringing the power of embodied therapy and coaching to help my clients find a more vibrant way to live in the world. A graduate of Princeton University, I earned a Masters in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia (UVA). In addition to holding an M.Ed., I am a certified Yoga Therapist through Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, a RYT 200, and have been practicing yoga for 25 years. I have an online and in-person private practice. I have worked with Heidrick and Struggles' Executive Coaching students in somatic training. I specialize in helping teens and young adults tap into their physical and emotional wellbeing. My three children, my partner, and my two dogs teach me daily and keep me real as I (many times unsuccessfully) practice being the sky, not the weather.
